ACCOMMODATON
Travel from Johannesburg to Kasane can be done in a normal sedan car at your leisure should you wish. The national road network between major cities is excellent and these roads are tarred and are therefore suitable for ordinary sedan vehicles. The distance is about 1200 km. It is not advised to travel the distance in less than 2 days as night driving can be dangerous because of animals on the road. There are reasonable to good motels, lodges and game parks on the way to overnight. Contact the secretariat if you consider this option.
The distance by road from Gaborone to Kasane is about 850 km of tarred road although some areas have potholes.
There are regular flights between O R Tambo airport (Johannesburg) and Gaborone; Livingstone and Victoria Falls as well as flights between Gaborone and Kasane please check with your travel agent for more detail.
The paste 08 organizing committee negotiated additional air-charter flights from Johannesburg to Kasane.
Kasane, one of Africa's best top tourist destinations, is a well known game viewing area due to the close proximity to world class game reserves such as Chobe and Moremi. It is a regular choice for seminars and offers the following:
- Total room capacity: more than 300 of which the secretariat has secured 248 for delegates.
- Easy access by air for scheduled flights from Gaborone as well as charter flights direct from Johannesburg International Airport.
- Close to Victoria Falls
- Kasane is the most spectacular elephant viewing site in all of Africa
Accommodation is offered in several lodges in Kasane, and transport between the lodges and the seminar venue will be provided. We are negotiating special bulk discount rates for the seminar and the options will be announced on the latest news at on conclusion of the negotiations.

When registering, please note your preferences for accommodation and we will do our best to accommodate you, but note that late registrants will probably not be able to be accommodated in their first or second choice lodges.
Other lodges in the area advertise as well, however it would be advisable to contact the paste08 secretariat before booking privately as the roads and distances could prove to be challenging and a 4 wheel drive vehicle might be required.
