Bernard Busani
Bernard represents Debswana Diamond Mining Company on the Committee. Bernard has spent many years in the development of paste and thickened tailings technology for Debswana. He is currently the Group Metallurgical Managerresponsible for all process engineering functions across Debswana operations. He also leads a wide range of projects, the most relevant being the implementation of thickened tailings technology at Debswana's mines as part of Debswana's commitment to worlds best practice in water management. |

Martin Cooks
Martin is Debswana's Group process engineer water and residue studies and has extensive experience within both academia and industry. Originally starting in the agricultural field, Martin has been involved in the metallurgical industry over the past 10 years after graduating from UNISA with a BSc degree in chemistry, maths and operations research. His experience includes soil science analytical laboratory management, laboratory research and extractive metallurgy research and design and installation of thickening equipment at Outokumpu Technology. |

Angus Paterson
Angus is a director of Paterson & Cooke and has been closely involved in the seminar series for many years. Angus, together with Andy Fourie, was responsible for hosting the Paste 2004 seminar in Cape Town, South Africa. He has a special interest in the transport of high density slurries, and has been involved in numerous thickened and paste tailings projects around the world. |

Paul Slatter
Paul is the head of research at the Flow Process Research Centre at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and has been actively involved in slurry pipeline flow behaviour research since 1986. The Flow Process Research Centre conducts a wide range of research on fundamental fluid mechanics issues related to the transport of high concentration slurries and Paul and his staff have published the results of their research at numerous international conferences. |
